Pokemon Center Report – gasp Steven! + Zygarde + Battle Sets

This past Saturday had the very last big (ish) Pokemon Center merch promotion of 2015.

The main attraction for the day was… Steven!

Steven Stone (Daigo Tsuwabuki in Japanese) is a Champion, a steel-type trainer, and everyone’s boyfriend

Who can resist his piercing steel-grey eyes?! No one, that’s who.

This promotion had a wide variety of items all featuring the gorgeous main artwork, from post cards and a metal charm set

To eyeglass cases (complete with cleaning cloth), hand towels, clearfiles

Larger than usual rubber charms, for your phone (if you have a large phone or are adventurous) or bag

To stainless steel cups! Yes, they went there.

Each cup comes in a box covered in comic-style art.

The star of the Steven show, and the most expensive piece from the collection, was the mega evolution stone lapel pin. At 8,000 yen (+ tax) per pin, this piece of jewelry is sure to compliment any steel trainer’s outfit!

Along with Steven, there was also a bunch of new Zygarde related merch, including a brand new Zygarde Core plush that shakes and is squishy.

A special MonColle (Monster Collection) set of figures, with all four Zygarde forms, came out on Saturday.

Although if you don’t like or want all four forms, you can buy them separately as well

This Zygarde Core figure is my favorite.

There was also a metal charm set

And a new Pokemon Center exclusive plush for Zygarde 10%.

Ash’s Greninja also got his own Pokemon Center exclusive plush

And a metal charm.

Last and certainly not least, a couple card game related items also came out on Saturday. Along with the Steven sleeves, a semi creepy Hypno design went on sale

As well as Darkrai double deck cases

And not forgetting the three different Pokemon XY Break Battle Sets.

The countdown to New Years is beginning! Here is to hoping the Pokemon Center on New Years day will not be as crazy as I am afraid it will be.

Pokemon Center Report – Pokemon Block Style + Ash’s Greninja + New Mechanical Pencils

Two mini promotions came out this weekend: Pokemon Block Style and Ash’s Greninja, along with some un-announced mechanical pencils featuring artwork from previous popular promotions.

Both of the mini promotions dealt mainly with stationary and related merchandise, such as pencils, rulers, school notebooks, etc. with some miscellaneous items like handkerchiefs thrown in for fun.

Pokemon Block Style had a more cartoony and simple design, and covered a wider range of Pokemon, including the Zygarde formes

Along with Ash’s Greninja.

As usual with this type of promotion, we got these little plastic cups with the main design

And a bonus lunchbox!

Ash’s Greninja promotion had pretty much all of the same items, with the main difference being the featured illustration.

The Greninja promo also had a shirt, which Block Style did not.

Last but not least, pencils! I’m a huge fan of these pencils because they’re fun to draw with and have really cute designs on them.

This latest batch included designs from Chiku-Chiku Sewing, Life With Pikachu, Mystery Mansion

Pikachu in the Farm, and Eeveelutions.

This weekend wasn’t super busy, Pokemon wise, but next week leading into the weekend will start to get more exciting. A new set of rolly-polly plush (korotto-manmaru) will start appearing in game centers around Japan on the 23rd and then the 26th will have the Steven Stone promotion, 2 card sleeve designs (Steven and Hypno), 2 Pokemon Center exclusive plush (Ash’s Greninja, Zygarde 10%), metal charms (Ash’s Greninja, Zygarde Core, Zygarde 10%, Zygarde Perfect Forme), a Takara Tomy Zygarde Core plush, several new MonColle figures, a new talky Pikachu plush, and 3 Pokemon Card Game battle sets.

Friday Pokemon Announcements – New Plush + Pokemon Market + TCG Kuji + Its’Demo + Monthly Pikachu

Surprise! Pokemon came through for us with a couple merch announcements for us.

Along with the much anticipated Steven Stone promotion, December 26th will also give us two new Pokemon Center exclusive plushies: Ash’s Greninja and Zygarde 10%.

Ash’s Greninja: 3,200 yen + tax
Zygarde 10%: 2,000 yen + tax

We also have the official announcement for the New Years special Monthly Pikachu pair plush, going on sale from New Years Day. The Pikachus will be sold as a set for 2,500 yen + tax.

Incidentally, New Years will be semi busy this year! Along with the special Monthly Pikachu plush, Special Card Boxes, card sleeves, and the start of the Pikachu Mega Campaign Wave 2, the Center is also giving us a new promotion: Pokemon Market. The art style is supposed to be reminiscent of the more old-school Pokemon designs.
