Pokemon Center Report – Pokemon Tails & Paws + Pokemon Center Plush

Pokemon Center Report – Pokemon Tails & Paws + Pokemon Center Plush

Hello everyone!

We’re back with another exciting Pokemon Center Report~

There were two big releases Saturday, December 16th.

The first was…*drum roll* the Pokemon Tails & Paws promotion!

Featuring a bunch of Pokemon tails (and some paws) this promotion is both cute and maybe a little weird when you think about it (so don’t think about it!)

The original Pokemon Tails promotion went on sale in February, 2013 so a lot of time has passed between the two releases. Some main differences at a glance: the tail (and paw) mascots feature acrylic charms vs the original rubber ones, there are no pens in this recent release, no individual clear file sets for each featured Pokemon, limited phone cases (in the original release there were soft iPhone cases to match each tail mascot), and the ceramic tail mugs are far less detailed (in the original release, the tail handles were more 3D while the new ones are flat and more handle-shaped / less die-cut).

Considering the original release also featured Minccino, the clear winner for me is the original Tails release. But that doesn’t mean this latest release wasn’t also cute in it’s own way!

Tails Mascot Plush

The highlight to the tail promotion was of course the tail mascots!

There were 5 designs in total: Alola Vulpix, Mimikyu, Sylveon, Umbreon, and Espeon. Each mascot came with a matching acrylic charm.

Along with the smaller mascot plush, there was a larger carabiner clip Mimikyu tail mascot plush as well.

There was also a selection of four paw shaped mascot plush, complete with adorable toe beans!

Paws Mascot Plush

The four paw mascot plush included: Alola Vulpix, Eevee, Lucario, and Bewear. Similar to the tail mascot plush, each mascot includes a matching acrylic charm.

There were two types of phone cases as part of this promo. The Bewear case is a hard shell designed specifically for iPhones.

Flip Phone Cases

There were also four types of flip phone cases featuring Charmander, Mimikyu, Sylveon and Pikachu.

Tail Cushions

Not forgetting the large tail cushions! There were 2 designs: Eevee and Pikachu. These cushions are pretty big and the perfect size for snuggling. They’re also super soft and squishy!

And of course the aforementioned tail mugs, with Mimikyu, Espeon, and Umbreon designs!

Not individually pictured but of note: the paw pad fuzzy socks for Eevee and Alola Vulpix and the Bewear cooking mitts.

Of note because I’m still boggled the Pokemon Center released them: mugs designed to look like paws but they look like butts from the side. Maybe someone out there finds these mugs cute. Based on the name, you’d think they’d be adorable. You’d be wrong. They’re kind of plain and only feature default artwork of both Eevee and Alolan Vulpix on the side. The Pokemon Center couldn’t be bothered to make a quick original sketch to use, not even the artwork used on the acrylic charms for the mascot plush. You do you, Pokemon Center.

The second big release for the weekend… new Pokemon Center plush!

Well newish. Wailord was released previously although the pattern for this release is slightly different.

December Pokemon Center Plush

Along with Wailord, the Pokemon Center also gave us Tapu Lele and Gardevoir (yes, Gardevoir has legs under the skirt!)

That wraps up today’s Pokemon Center Report!

Until next time~

Friday Pokemon Announcements – New Pokemon Center Plush + Lana Nendoroid + Itoen Vending Machine Figures + Surprise Charms

Friday Pokemon Announcements – New Pokemon Center Plush + Lana Nendoroid + Itoen Vending Machine Figures + Surprise Charms

Hello everyone!

Once again, the Pokemon Center has let me down for no official news on the upcoming Tails promotion. But that’s okay because at least we still have a couple small announcements.

First of all… surprise keychain charms!!

These charms were unannounced but will go on sale at all Pokemon Centers and Stores in Japan starting tomorrow (December 2nd).

The set includes Alolan Vulpix, Mimikyu, Cosmog, Lunala, and Solgaleo. Each keychain charm set comes with one Pokemon and one little matching item (adorable).

I will be picking these charms up bright and early tomorrow, so if you’re interested, check out my general Pokemon Center pick-ups page here! You can get in touch with me by mail, via Twitter, or through Facebook.

Moving on to the actual announcements…

A new set of Pokemon Center exclusive plush will go on sale at all Pokemon Centers and Stores in Japan on December 16th (Saturday).

This set will feature Gardevoir, Wailord, and Tapu Lele. Although Wailord looks similar to an earlier release, the pattern of the plush is slightly different, so if you’re a die-hard Wailord fan, don’t miss out!

December Pokemon Center Plush

Gardevoir will sell for 2,160 yen including tax.
Wailord will sell for 4,860 yen including tax.
Tapu Lele will sell for 3,456 yen including tax.

Next up! The popular blind-packaged figure collection from the Pikachu Invasion promo will start to be sold through Itoen vending machines across Japan from December 1st!

There are 10 figures in total. Each figure will come packaged in a glass jar and includes an original can badge, which was not included with the Pokemon Center release. Each figure will cost 800 yen.

Lana Nendoroid

Finally we have a new Pokemon Nendoroid coming out… Lana!

Along with her normal expression, she also comes with two extra face plates: a shy smiling face and a closed eye smile face. She also comes with a fishing rod, a net ball, a tiny Wishiwashi, and a small sheet with a picture of Wishiwashi School Form.

Lana Nendoroid Bonus

As with most Nendoroid releases, there will be two bonus items.

If you order Lana through the Goodsmile store, you’ll get a Water Z-Power Motif Nendoroid base.
If you order Lana through the Pokemon Center On-line store, you’ll get an additional dive ball.

Lana costs 4,800 yen after tax.
The pre-order period runs from December 1st until January 10th, 2018.
Her release date is end of June, 2018.

Pokemon Center Report – Skytree + Pikachu of the World + Ditto Transform

The Pokemon Center Report is back with a few previously released promotions!

IMG_3169

A brand new Pokemon Center opened near the beginning of July near the famous Skytree tower in Tokyo. With the logo featuring Pikachu and Rayquaza, it should come as no surprise that a lot of the promotional merchandise featured both Pikachu and Rayquaza. (Check out this previous post for more photos on the Skytree promotion)

IMG_3174

Similar to the Mega Tokyo location, the center piece of the Skytree Center is a statue with the two logo Pokemon, incidentally perfect for taking photos of and with!

IMG_3172

Near the base of the statue is this cute little drawing donated by the Pokemon House tv show cast members.

IMG_3218

Part 1 of the Pikachu of the World series came out August 6th and featured Pikachus dressed up in outfits representing China

the Netherlands

IMG_3186

IMG_3220

England

the United States

and Japan.

IMG_3216

This series, which should continue in the near future featuring different countries, includes plush and mascot plush of the five different Pikachus, along with hand towels, cups, and stickers. (See this post for more information)

IMG_3205

The newest Ditto Transform! additions also came out August 6th!

IMG_3207

As with previous releases, each Pokemon was sold in two sizes: normal and mascot. This batch of Dittos included Raichu? Pichu?

IMG_3210

Umbreon? Espeon?

IMG_3203

and maybe Vulpix? They’re all cute but I was a little surprised at how flat Raichu was, which I guess shouldn’t be too surprising as I remember having the same complaint with Pikachu when he was released.

IMG_3183

As an Umbreon collector, I had been looking forward to Ditto Umbreon since the first of the Eeveelutions came out in part 2 and I was not disappointed.

IMG_3196

Last but not least, these pastel petit plush came out a few months back, but I haven’t gotten a hold of photos until now! They look pretty much identical to the previously released petit plushies, but these ones are pastel, so you know, they’re different. This new set includes Dedenne

Altaria

IMG_3194

Jirachi

Wailord and (not pictured) Pikachu.

Hopefully we will get some actual merchandise news later tonight!

Pokemon Announcements – New 3DS LL Designs + Pokemon Petit Pastel + Summer Festival + Dream Holo Collection

Surprise Pokemon update today! I guess not so surprisingly since the site was set to update with Pokemon game news anyway, but still! Surprise!

New3DSLL1

New3DSLL2

Two new Pokemon themed New Nintendo 3DS LL systems are scheduled to come out November 18th, the same day that Pokemon Sun and Moon drops. Preorders for the game systems will start July 16th through most video game retailers around Japan. At this time, these two designs will only be available in Japan, but there is always a chance the same designs, or similar ones, will be announced later on for sale outside of Japan.

Each system will retail for 20,304 yen after tax and do not come with preinstalled copies of Sun and or Moon.

PokemonPetitPastel

The Pokemon Petit series returns to Pokemon Centers and Stores on July 2nd with brand new pastel designs! This first batch of pastel plush will include Altaria, Dedenne, Jirachi, Pikachu, and Wailord, and each plush retails for 972 yen.

NatsuMatsu1

Along with new Petits, a summer festival themed promotion, nicknamed “Pika-Matsuri” is also coming out July 2nd. Summer festivals in Japan are generally full of fun, food, festivities, and fireworks, and the creators behind this promotion tried to capture that atmosphere in the merchandise and plush.
