Tokyo DX Anniversary + Kyoto Center + Easter

Tokyo DX Anniversary + Kyoto Center + Easter

Hello everyone and welcome back to another exciting “Pokemon Center Report”!

Pokemon Center Tokyo DX Anniversary

First up – the Tokyo DX Pokemon Center celebrated it’s first year anniversary this past Thursday (March 14th).

Tokyo DX Anniversary 1

Both the Center and the adjoining Pokemon Center cafe are currently in full cherry bloom with tons of pink blossom decorations everywhere, with the highlight being an extra adorable sakura afro Pikachu.

Tokyo DX 2

Along with the decorations and limited food menu over at the cafe, four Pikachu cosplay plush are currently available exclusively at the Tokyo DX Center location: Sakura Afro Pikachu, Ninja Pikachu, Sumo Pikachu, and Kabuki Pikachu.

For those curious as to the theme of the Pikachu plush: Nihonbashi (where the Center is located) was originally the downtown center of Edo-Tokyo and still retains a lot of historical significance, along with being a major commercial and business neighborhood. Consequently, the theme for the Tokyo DX Center is very Meiji-era influenced. If you like traditional Japanese imagery as well as Pokemon, definitely consider making the Tokyo DX Center one of your must stops if visiting Tokyo!

Pokemon Center Kyoto

Speaking of traditional Japanese merchandise, the Kyoto Center’s re-opening campaign started this past Saturday (March 16th)!

Kyoto Plush

The Pokemon Center in Kyoto moved to a new location and as part of the re-opening, all Centers around Japan sold Kyoto inspired merchandise, including these two Pikachu boy and girl plush dressed in traditional kimono and drinking the most Japanese drink: green tea.

Kyoto Stuff

Along with the plush, the promotion also included: charms, keychains, several TCG related merchandise (card sleeves and a playmat), acrylic charms (blind packaged, of course), pouches, towels, a plethora of stationary, and other cute items!

For this release, the only merchandise exclusive to the Kyoto Center were the mascot plush versions of the two main Pikachu plush.

Pokemon Center Easter Spring

Last but not least! The Pokemon Center’s Easter promotion for 2019 went on sale this past Saturday alongside the Kyoto release.

Easter Plush

Similar to last year’s Easter release, the two main plush featured Pikachu and Eevee with flower crowns, although this year’s plush have significantly different patterns and the crown contents differ as well. I personally prefer last year’s designs better.

Easter Mascot

Last year, there were only mascot plush of Pikachu and Eevee, but this year along with the two mains, we also got Plusle, Minun, and Buneary, all sporting adorable flower crowns.

Easter More Stuff

As with all promotions, there was more than just plush. The line-up included: a bunch of stationary related items, pouches, bags, towels, and the popular blind packaged acrylic charms… in Easter eggs! Because of course.

Pokemon Center Pikachu Eevee Flowers

Along with the Easter line-up, there was also an unannounced set of merchandise with a pastel flowery theme featuring both Pikachu and Eevee called Pikachu & Eevee Flowers. The designs are more subtle so if you like cute things you can use in your everyday life, as well as Pikachu and Eevee, then this was clearly made for you.

That wraps up this week’s Pokemon Center Report!

Until next time~

Pokemon Center Report – Pikachu’s Sweet Treats

Pokemon Center Report – Pikachu’s Sweet Treats

The 2018 Pokemon Center Valentine’s Day promotion went on sale January 13th and was full of tons of sweets and sweets related merchandise!

Sweet Plush

This year’s Valentine’s Day plush was a Pikachu Pair and adorable! They’re dressed as tiny Pikachu bakers, one boy and one girl.

The charm point is of course the tiny hearts on their butts.

There was also a heart shaped fuzzy cushion featuring artwork of the cute Pikachu Pair.

There was of course other non plush items that were equally as cute if not quite as soft.

Sweet Items

Along with towels (which unfortunately are never easy to get pictures of) there was a set of metal charms (so you can twin with your special someone), a cute bag charm that you can attach to non bag items, a unique little pouch designed to look like a biscuit, and a Pokemon Center drawstring pouch with the promotional artwork.

Sweet Sticker Roll

Special note 2: The sticker roll! I generally don’t buy stickers because I never use them, but I caved for these because the promotional artwork is so cute.

Sweet Item 2

This year’s promotion also included a couple kitchen and baking related items, which was really exciting.

There was a set of cookie cutters, silicone molds for making chocolates and candies, and adorable kitchen rags for cleaning up spills or just brightening up your kitchen area.

Also as part of the promotion was two types of gift bags (a simple one color brown paper bag and a colorful clear bag). There was also a small paper bag with handles. These are designed so you can make your cute chocolates and cookies and then give them to your special someone’s in super cute bags, making everything that much more precious.

Not forgetting the pink heart shaped mugs, perfect for drinking sweet hot chocolate out of.

Sweet Chocolate Memo

The stationary set (left) looks just similar enough to the box of chocolates (right)… to me at least… that I definitely got mixed up a couple times while shopping. It does clearly say on both boxes what they are, and now that I have the two side by side I can tell they’re not identical like I thought up until this point. It’s still confusing!

But speaking of chocolate boxes… Pikachu’s Sweet Treats included not one, not two, but three different snacks!

Sweet Chocolate Cookies

First up… vanilla strawberry chocolate cookies!

Originally I wasn’t planning on buying any but when it comes to cookies and chocolate, I am weak, and it didn’t take much to convince myself to get a bag.

I did not regret this decision – these cookies are amazing! It’s basically a vanilla cookie with really yummy strawberry chocolate on top. The artwork on the bag is of the Valentine’s Day Pair Pikachu from 2017.

Sweet Pikachu Chocolates

Number two… Pikachu chocolates!

These milk chocolates come wrapped in little Pikachus and are sold in a plastic Pikachu cup with tiny ears sticking out the top.

There was a girl version with a pink bow and a boy version with a blue bow.

Also of note are the little tails on the backs of the chocolate wrappers.

Sweet Box Chocolates

Last and certainly not least… the chocolate box!

This was my favorite item, aesthetically, out of all three sweets, although to be honest, the chocolate cookies were the tastiest.

Although the individually wrapped chocolates are adorable, all the chocolate is basically milk chocolate. But still cute!

That wraps up today’s Pokemon Center Report!

Until next time~

Pokemon Center Report – New Plush + TCG + Magikarp Jump

Pokemon Center Report – New Plush + TCG + Magikarp Jump

Hello everyone!

In my attempts to catch up with a bunch of releases that came out all at once, here is part one covering new Pokemon Center plush, card sleeves, Magikarp Jump mini promotion, and a couple miscellaneous items.

First up: new Pokemon Center exclusive plush!

ORAS Plush Again

I should probably say “new” as the majority of plush in this batch came out about two years back or so with the release of Alpha Sapphire and Omega Ruby.

With such a large number of Pokemon, many of which don’t have official plush, I’m not sure why the Center gave us plush of Pokemon that literally get plush all the time, but the Pokemon Center does what it wants. With that said, the plush are still cute!

Tomy Dusk Lycanroc

Our very first official plush of Dusk Lycanroc came out a few weekends ago!

Along with this adorable Rowlet plush that comes with a little backpack to carry him around in.

Lycanroc & Shiny Mimikyu

Last weekend, two surprise and unannounced Pokemon Center plush were released under the rader: shiny Mimikyu and the second official plush of Dusk Lycanroc!

September TCG

Two Friday’s ago, a bunch of new Pokemon card sleeves were released along with the release of the “Awakened Heroes” and “Ultra-Dimensional Beasts” booster packs.

A matching deck case featuring beautiful Silvally artwork also went on sale the same Friday.

Schedule Books 2018

Four schedule books for 2018 went on sale last weekend also with little fanfare and no previous announcements.

The two Pikachu books are made of leather and the price for both reflect it, as they’re double the price of the Ditto Transform! and Eeveelution books. All of them are cute!

Magikarp Jump

Last and certainly not least, a very small amount of official Magikarp Jump merchandise came out two weekends back. Not pictured here is the blind packaged acrylic charms. (I have two on the way and I’m excited to see which fish patterns I pull!)

Stay tuned for more exciting Pokemon Center Reports!

Until next time~
