Pokemon Center Report – Rainbow Rocket Take-Over + Pokemon Center Plush

Pokemon Center Report – Rainbow Rocket Take-Over + Pokemon Center Plush

Hello everyone~

Rainbow Rocket landed in Pokemon Centers across Japan (including the on-line store) on Saturday January 20th.

The promotion featured a bunch of neat items, including stickers, clip sets, pens, phone cases, and a set of gacha figures (see this post for a full list), however the highlights were definitely the Pikachu Dress-Up plush and surprise legendary (plus Goliosopod) Pokemon plush.

Rainbow Rocket Pikachu Plush

Unlike the previously released Secret Teams dress-up Pikachu, these Pikachu plush are dressed up specifically as each secret team’s leaders.

There are 7 Pikachu plush in total: Giovanni, Archie, Maxie (not pictured), Cyrus, Ghetsis, Lysandre, and Guzma.

Rainbow Rocket Legendary

Along with the 7 Boss Pikachus, the promo as featured 9 legendary Pokemon plush (and Golisopod, who I guess is an honorary legendary now)

These plush are not Pokedolls although they sort of have a Pokedoll feel.

I’m not going to lie; some are pretty derpy. Maybe it adds to their charm?

The 10 plush are: Mewtwo, Groudon, Kyogre, Dialga, Palkia, Zekrom, Reshiram, Yveltal, Xerneas, and as mentioned Golisopod.

January PokeCen Plush

Unrelated to Rainbow Rocket, two new (?) Pokemon Center exclusive plush came out January 20th as well.

New being questionable as Pichu isn’t really new at this point anywhere, but Typhlosion was a surprise.

Pikachu Living & Dining

On January 27th, a small Pikachu based promotion called Pikachu Living & Dining was released.

The promo features a bunch of items that can be used in the home and the kitchen, including tons of bowls, towels, laundry related merch

and cute Pikachu slippers (plus a couple others!)

That wraps up the last of the releases for January.

Welcome to February everyone~

Friday Pokemon Announcements – Rainbow Rocket Takeover

Friday Pokemon Announcements – Rainbow Rocket Takeover

Hey everyone!

We’re back~~~~

The Pokemon Center staff decided to take a two week extended vacation around the New Years so we didn’t get any updates the Friday before New Years and we didn’t get anything the Friday after.

To be honest, tonight’s updates weren’t that exciting considering it was only Rainbow Rocket stuff that we already mostly knew about. But! Better than nothing and we do have a couple interesting tidbits so hold on to your hats.

…but first, a word from the management!

I’m currently hosting a little Pre-Valentine’s Day give away for the super adorable Pikachu Pair Plush that comes out tomorrow (Saturday January 13th).

To enter, simply follow my Twitter account (@zombiemiki) and retweet this tweet~

Entrees are welcome world-wide. Good luck to everyone!

Rainbow Rocket Takeover!

The Pokemon Bosses will be taking over the Pokemon Centers in Japan starting January 20th. This take-over extends to the on-line store as well, where the site will get a little make-over to be darker and more Bossier, until March when the campaign officially ends.

As part of the take-over, there will of course be a merch promotion that will also start January 20th (Saturday). This promo is comprised of two parts: Secret Teams and Boss Pikachu.

As part of the Boss Pikachu side, we’re getting 7 Pikachu plush dressed as the 7 main bosses from across 7 generations of Pokemon: Giovanni, Maxie, Archie, Cyrus, Ghetsis, Lysandre, and Guzma.

Each plush will cost 2,160 yen after tax.

There will also be new legendary Pokemon (and Golisopod) plush!

Although they look sort of like Pokedolls, they’re not part of the Pokedoll line.

This release will include: Mewtwo, Groudon, Kyogre, Dialga, Palkia, Reshiram, Zekrom, Yveltal, Xerneas, and as mentioned, Goliosopod.

Each plush will cost 2,484 yen after tax.

Last but not least, there will be three main merchandise related campaigns that will start from January 20th.

Customers on the Pokemon Center On-Line Store who complete all four missions on the on-line store will be entered into a raffle to win an original customizable card case.

The case comes with 7 badges, 1 for each team, so you can decorate your case with whichever team holds your heart (and your soul).

There will be 50 winners for this magnificent prize.

Campaign 2! Starting from January 20th, Pokemon Center On-Line orders will be shipped in special Rainbow Rocket boxes.

Campaign 3.A! For every 2,000 yen spent at any Pokemon Center or Store, including the on-line Store, customers will receive 1 of 7 Boss Pikachu cards.

Campaign 3.B! Customers at Pokemon Centers or Store who purchase 5 packs of TCG cards will receive an original Boss Pikachu promo card of their choosing. This campaign is available on-line as well.

All of these campaigns will run into March 11th or until supplies run out in some cases.

That wraps up Friday’s Pokemon Center announcements!

For those who don’t live in Japan, everything from the Rainbow Rocket promotion can be found on Japanstuffs.com. We ship worldwide and every order comes with an original Miki designed sticker!

Thanks for sticking around and stay tuned for more merch and madness.

Pokemon Merchandise Announcements – Pokemon TCG “Awaiting Islands” / “Alola Moonlight”

The next set of Pokemon Sun & Moon TCG booster packs (“Awaiting Islands” and “Alola Moonlight”) have been officially announced!

This post will cover everything TCG related coming out on the booster pack release date of March 17th (Friday).

First up, the booster packs themselves. Each pack will contain 5 random cards and cost 162 yen each.

For card sleeve enthusiasts, there will be five new sleeve designs, all sold in full deck packs of 64 sleeves per pack at 777 yen each after tax.

The five designs include: Alola Vulpix + Ninetails, Mimikyu, Ditto Transform, Lycanroc Pair, and Pokemon Ride.
Based on experience and recent trends, there is a good chance the Vulpix and Mimikyu sleeves will sell out very quickly, so if you want them, keep that in mind.

Along with card sleeves, there will also be two types of deck boxes coming out on March 17th.

The Lycanroc design will be available as both a regular and double sized deck box, while the Mao’s Cooking design will only be available as a double sized deck box.

The regular sized box will cost 390 yen after tax and the double deck boxes will cost 1,500 yen after tax.

Three new Pokemon Card Game Special Sets will go on sale starting March 17th, featuring Pikachu, Komala, and Jangmo-o promo cards.

The Komala set will include 1 holo promo card, 1 booster pack of “Awaiting Islands” and 1 booster pack of “Alola Moonlight”. Price after tax is 378 yen.
The Pikachu and Jangmo-o sets will include 1 holo promo card, 2 booster packs of “Awaiting Islands” and 2 booster packs of “Alola Moonlight”. Price after tax per set is 702 yen.

A new starter set will also go on sale, featuring a Tapu Bulu EX promo card!

Each set will contain 2 Tapu Bulu EX cards, 60 random cards, 44 damage counters + 2 markers, 1 GX marker, 1 Pokemon coin, 1 Playmat, and 1 Pokemon TCG player’s guide. The set will cost 1,680 yen after tax.

Finally, we have two different card campaigns starting March 17th!

Buy 5 booster packs from a store that deals with Pokemon cards in Japan (some stores excluded), and you will receive 1 special promo card pack.
The promo pack includes 11 random cards plus 1 secret card. The secret card can be 1 of 11 cards: a shiny Tapu Koko, Salandit, or 1 of 9 possible energy cards.

Also starting March 17th, for every full box of booster cards bought at an officially recognized Pokemon Card Gym (including the Pokemon Center), customers will receive either a holo Golisopod card (“Awaiting Islands” booster box) or a holo Dhelmise card (“Alola Moonlight booster box). These two cards are not included in either booster pack sets, so this is the only way to get them.

Both campaigns will be available while supplies last and cannot be combined with each other.

Until next time!
