Pokemon Center Report – 100 Pokemon Night Parade

Pokemon Center Report – 100 Pokemon Night Parade

Hello everyone!

The major release for this past weekend was the much anticipated “100 Pokemon Night Parade” or Hyaku Poke Yako (百ポケ夜行) Pokemon Center promotion.

Based on the hyakki yako but replacing traditional Japanese yokai with Pokemon, this summer themed promotion was pretty unique and also included a side series of items featuring traditional Japanese crest designs combined with Pokemon.

Yokai 1

The main attraction was the plush: Vulpix, Alola Vulpix, Greninja, and Froslass.

Of the four, I’m the most impressed with Greninja and Froslass. I think they turned out really nice, and of course it’s always great seeing plush made of Pokemon who don’t normally get plush (like Froslass!)

In my opinion, the Vulpix plush turned out cuter in person compared to the stock photo.

I really don’t like the pattern the Pokemon Center continues to use for Alola Vulpix plush, so my opinion here is the nose is wonky as always. Maybe someday they’ll use a different pattern. (A girl can dream).

Pokemon Center 100 Pokemon Night Parade Hyaku Poke Yako

Most of the items from the promotion featured the main parade illustration, which is gorgeous, so I don’t have many complaints.

Yokai 2

The can badges are made of traditional Japanese chirimen crepe fabric, which I thought was pretty neat.

I really loved these stickers! They might have been one of my favorite items from the release.

… along with the chopsticks! Which features the Pokemon Crest themed artwork.

Yokai 3

A couple of items featured the two Vulpix crests on one side and a print design of other Pokemon, including Golisopod, Greninja, Mawile, and Froslass on the other.

I like the two Vulpix designs, I just wish they made them a little more different because at a glance, they look almost the same.

Poke Maniac Pikachu

Bonus! In part with the Poke Maniac campaign, Poke Maniac Pikachu mascots and accompanying staff have been visiting Pokemon Centers around Japan.

Friday Pokemon Announcements – Pokemon TCG “Awakened Heroes” / Ultra-Dimensional Beasts”

Hello everyone!

I’m back with a separate Friday Merch Announcements post to cover the most recent Pokemon TCG news~

Two new booster packs have been announced via the Pokemon TCG website for release September 15th (Friday).

“Awakened Heroes” (SM4S) and “Ultra-Dimensional Beasts” (SM4A) are both normal booster sets. Each individual pack will cost 162 yen after tax and contain 5 random cards.

As a bonus along with the release, special “First Edition” boxes (30 packs of cards) will be sold of each booster set, with each box containing a guaranteed at least 1 SR, HR, or UR card.

Also starting September 15th, for every two boxes (60 packs) of booster packs bought, you will get 1 full deck’s worth of original Acerola card sleeves (64 sleeves). These bonus sleeves will be given out as a bonus while supplies last and will be available at all Pokemon Centers and Stores in Japan, along with the on-line Pokemon Center Store.

These sleeves can only be obtained through this promotion, and the design is incredibly adorable, so don’t miss out!

September Card Sleeves

As with most big TCG releases, five new card sleeve designs will also go on sale in Japan starting September 15th (Friday).

The five designs are:

Pokemon Center Report – PokeKyun Collection

The PokeKyun concept pack came out on Friday the 29th and I was there at the Mega Tokyo Pokemon Center, bright and early, for card fun and festivities! The train ride in to the city was especially smushy because for some reason every time trains would go through this one specific station on my train line, the doors wouldn’t open and they literally had to turn each train off and on again, leading to delays upon delays. But I did it for Pokemon!

Aside from the card packs themselves, there were two bonus items that came out on Friday that were card related. Bonus item 1 were these Premium PokeKyun Box Sets.

IMG_1574

This display features the contents of the premium box (sheet of stickers, card sleeves, deck box, long box, Shaymin EX card). The cards in the back are samples of the cards that are available through the concept pack.

Item number 2 I didn’t know about until I saw it in person.

IMG_1568

This mini binder set is exclusive to Pokemon Centers and 7-11. Each set comes with 1 mini binder to store you cute cards in as well as two packs of PokeKyun cards.

I had to buy one of the binder sets for myself. Here is one side…
