It’s Golden Week in Japan, and that means, Tokyo is full of people (aaaa). This is also the reason why next week won’t have any big releases at the Pokemon Center, and no Pokemon merchandise announcements on Friday, but to make up for it, we got a very cute and original promotion release this past Saturday (April 29th): Pokemon Pop! There were also new Pokemon cushions and three new NanoBlock sets.

Before we get into the meat and potatoes, a quick reminder about my Patreon. Every little bit helps to keep this site running with the latest news and exciting Pokemon Center and game center photos and information. I do my best to give out cute rewards, including photos, artwork, and stories, and I’m always willing to hear (and potentially implement) new rewards upon request.

Check out my Patreon page here. A big special thank you to everyone who supports me already!

The highlight of the main Pokemon Pop event were the mascot plush. For reasons I don’t understand, the Pokemon Center decided to not show us photos of these plush until very close to release. Because they’re meant to clean your phone screen, they’re not the softest, but they are very cute. As with everything Mimikyu and plush related, these mascot plush probably won’t stick around too long, especially considering we’re now in a vacation week so everyone is out shopping. If you want one, I highly suggest ordering it if you have not already.

There was a lot of incredibly cute merchandise in this promotion, including sticker sets, plenty of socks, a notebook, towels in two sizes, and blind packaged charms (because there is always blind packaged charms).

The backpack is one of my favorite items from the promotion (and I’m still considering getting one…) Not only is it a decent size, but it features the stylized Pokemon print which I adore.

Also…the return of the blind packaged cookies! These $5 cookies contain a random badge, with 10 designs in total (Pikachu, Gengar, Eevee, Mimikyu, Jirachi, Goomy, Togedemaru, Litten, Rowlet, and Popplio). I bought four bags of cookies so far trying to get Mimikyu and I have Litten, Eevee, Goomy, and Jirachi…but no Mimikyu.

More cute stuff: phone cases! Pokemon Pop gave us two different styles: a flip case designed to hold a variety of medium sized phones and a hard shell case specifically for iPhone 7. Both designs are cute although as previously note, I really love the print design the best.

Along with the Pokemon Pop promotion, four new Pokemon cushions were released on Saturday. The four Pokemon were Rowlet, Togedemaru, Oddish, and Drifloon. These plush are very similar to the previously released Rowlet’s Garden cushion, except maybe a little fatter. They’re very squishy and soft and perfect for cuddling. Also adorable!

Three new NanoBlock sets went on sale on Saturday as well: Popplio, Litten, and Rowlet! I just wanted to point out how grumpy Litten looks, even in block form.

A brand new Talky Rotom plush came out on Saturday, too! Probably the most over-looked plush, he comes programmed with a variety of phrases and two modes: chat mode and Pokedex mode.

That concludes today’s Pokemon Center Report!

On a parting note, I am currently hosting a giveaway on Twitter. The prize is an Alolan Vulpix plush and to enter all you have to do is follow me and retweet this tweet. Give it a shot!

Until next time ~
