Hello everyone~
This post is a little late (oops) but here are most of the releases from January the 14th!
Valentine’s related merchandise has been on sale since New Years signs were taken down, and the Pokemon Center is no exception. The little sign says “show your love to important people in your life with cute Pokemon stuff” which by the way is great advice 😉
The 14th was the official nationwide release date for the return of one of the most popular lines of Pokemon merchandise: the Pokedoll. I shared photos from the pre-release on January 1st but here are three more because I’m sure no one can have enough Pokedolls. Currently the only three Pokedolls in existence are Rowlet
Litten
and Popplio!
I’ve heard some displeasure over Litten not having a nose but I personally find it cute.
There was also three Pokemon Center Exclusive plush (or PokeCen plush). The Alola Ninetails sold out within 15 minutes on the on-line Pokemon Center store but didn’t seem to sell out as quickly in the actual stores.
Fomantis
…and Alola Sandshrew which sold out so quickly we don’t have photos for you! I was not expecting either Ninetails or Sandshrew to sell out, or if yes, not at least for a week or longer because it didn’t seem like they’ve been popular. From the reports I heard, scalpers jumped all over the Sandshrew plush hardcore, and I still don’t understand why, but this meant every time the plush were restocked they immediately sold out again, so that was exciting.
At any rate, once I get photos, I will of course share them. For now, please imagine something cute and soft.
Continuing with PokeCen plush, Mew and Mewtwo both were re-released on the 14th without any prior announcements. As implied with “re-release” these plush are not new, but the designs are slightly different from the previous releases. Mew’s face is slightly less fat
Mewtwo looks fairly the same but maybe more angry?
This cute clearfile featuring original artwork for New Years also went on sale on the 14th.
Last but not least, phone cases! I love Pokemon phone cases because not only can you cushion your little phone in Pokemon, but the cases usually come with a little spot for hanging phone charms.
This release featured three designs in two styles: a soft case for iphone 6/6s and 7 and a flip-case for other phone models.
My favorite of the three was the Mimikyu + Pikachu design. The iPhone cases was predominantly Mimikyu with one Pikachu
while the flip case was predominantly Pikachu with one Mimikyu.
Personally, I liked the second design the best (with all the Pikachu and one imposter) – it would be nice if they made other items with this same pattern.
Which phone case is your favorite?
Thanks for reading, and until next time!
