Along with the surprise mini-promotions (Trick Battle and Forest Playtime) previously mentioned, a bunch of cute plushies also came out June 18th!
First up, Pikachu explosion! Every summer, there is a series of Pikachu centered events with tons of costumed Pikachus and other related Pikachu goods. This year, the explosion leaked into a mini Pikachu promotion featuring a bunch of items with a Pikachu print.
Perhaps one of the coolest items (in my opinion) is this backpack. It’s a little pricey mainly because it’s double branding (Pokemon and Outdoor) but you’re guaranteed a sturdy bag that will probably last for a while, and even longer than a while if you’re not planning on going hiking with it through, for example, the Australian outback.
Most of the items in this promotion come in either yellow or black, and the backpacks are no exception. While the yellow Pikachus are cute, my preference is definitely in the black. Not only because it’s my favorite color, but I think the print looks cooler white on black. However, if you prefer to stand out in a crowd, the yellow patterned bag is probably more your style!
Another neat item from the Pikachu promotion is this shirt. First off, way longer than I was expecting, especially for a Japanese size shirt! For the record, yes, this shirt also has a black/white variation.
The July Monthly Pair Pikachu also came out on the 18th.
These two Pikachu are beating the heat with their cute swim wear and inner tube!
The best release of the 18th, however, is the 5th batch of the very popular Kuttari series.
This new set of plush included Lilligant
Marshtomp
Vulpix
Pachirisu
Emonga
But best of all… CHILLARMY! For those who are new to the Miki(tzune), Chillarmy (Minccino) is my number one favorite Pokemon, and when I saw he was getting a Kuttari plush, I cried tears of joy and could not wait for this release. As with the previous Kuttari releases, all the Pokemon featured in this batch have both an awake and sleeping version, and the tag art differs slightly depending.
My personal Chillarms are on the way, but as soon as I get them, expect a slightly more in-depth review.
Until next time!
