To make up for last week’s disappointing zero new merch news, they gave us a bunch of exciting updates today!
Let’s start with the most exciting news first: Halloween!!! I always look forward to the Halloween promotion every year, and 2016’s line-up does not disappoint. The year’s merch has a circus theme to it, with all the Pokemon dressed up in cute, yet spookily appropriate, circus-y outfits. The main Pokemon are Pikachu (of course), Eevee, Drifloon, Espeon, and Umbreon. (Also, based on a lot of the recent merch announcements and releases, it might be fair to say at this point to expect to see more Espeon and Umbreon in the future.)
As a side note, the Halloween promotions usually start coming out in September, with Christmas stuff appearing near the end of October, so this is not earlier than expected.
The 2016 Halloween Circus promotion is set to come out at all Pokemon Centers and Stores in Japan on September 3rd.

On the heels of yesterday’s update with the new pastel Petit plush, we got a surprise announcement of a part 2 to the series!
This new batch of plush, including Ampharos, Cyndaquil, Gengar, Mudkip, and Raichu, will come out September 3rd. Each mascot plush will be 972 yen.
The third batch of Pokemon With You metal charms will come out September 3rd as well, because the more the merrier!
Pokemon in this set include Ditto, Espeon, Glaceon, Leafeon, Mew, Pichu, Raichu, and Umbreon, and each charm will be 270 yen, with all proceeds going toward disaster relief support for the Tohoku area in Japan.
Last and certainly not least, TCG updates! The first part of a 20th Anniversary themed expansion pack will come out September 16th. Card packs will feature re-releases of the original Pokemon cards. Each pack will cost 324 yen and contain 10 random cards.
Along with the expansion pack release, this special Pack, featuring Mega Slowpoke EX and Surfing Pikachu cards, will also go on sale September 16th. The set also comes with 3 20th Anniversary packs of cards and will cost 1,296 yen.
But that’s not all! Four new card sleeve designs will also go on sale starting September 16th. These sleeves will all be exclusive to the Pokemon Center, are all half-decks (32 sleeves each), and will cost 390 yen each.
The four designs are: Misty + Psyduck, Charizard, Chansey, and Mega Mawile. (Note: there should be better quality pictures coming soon)
And finally, an art book featuring Pokemon card illustrations, will also be released September 16th. The book not only contains sketches and finished artwork used on previously released Pokemon cards, but also has interviews with illustrators.
A Pokemon Center exclusive version of the book will come with an EX Charizard card and a 62 sleeve set of Charizard card sleeves.
Pre-orders for the book start August 17th and will stay open until September 15th, 5 pm.
Each book is 3,240 yen.

The plush of Umbreon Keychain , what is the size?
The mascot plush are usually around 3-5 inches or so (they’re not very big).
The Pokémon Center Exclusive Art Book collection (with bonus card and sleeves).
Can this be purchased in store on release date or is it online pre-order only?
I will be in Japan that week so am hoping to pick it up.
It is a Pokemon Center exclusive item, so it should be available at all Pokemon Centers on the 16th of September.
It doesn’t look like it’s an on-line exclusive pre-order item.
Just leaving Japan and picked up 10 of the Halloween blind boxes , can’t wait to see what I get!
I would have bought the plushies too, it’s too impractical for me, even though they are soooooo cute
Really hoping for an eevee, umbreon, and espeon, or maybe trade with another soul to get them >_<
I'm not really a fan of the pikachu design, idk there's something that just doesn't click with me. That didn't stop me from getting all the metal pins and charms haha
Really wish I could stay in Japan longer cuz spending more money at once isn't my style. Plus I really wanted to see the masquerade line up in person too.
I hope you had fun, and let me know what you end up getting!
I understand what you mean about the Pikachu design. I liked the illustration but I think it didn’t translate well to plush form.
