We got a bunch of exciting announcements on Friday, Japan time.
Because everyone loves these super soft and squishy cushions, the Pokemon Center is bringing out four new ones, with the theme being round and cuddly Pokemon! The four Pokemon included in this mini release is Rowlet, Drifloon, Oddish, and Togedemaru, with each cushion plush costing 4,536 yen after tax.
They will go on sale at all Pokemon Centers and Stores in Japan starting April 29th (Saturday).
New NanoBlock Pokemon sets will also go on sale starting April 29th (Saturday). The sets will be for Litten, Popplio, and Rowlet, with each set costing 1,296 yen after tax.
The popular Putitto gacha series will come out with new Pokemon figures on April 29th (Saturday). Unlike most gacha relases, these figures will be Pokemon Center exclusives, but still gacha machine prizes, meaning the figures will be distributed randomly, with 1 play costing 300 yen. The line-up for this set includes: Charmander, Bulbasaur, Squirtle, Gengar, Mew, Meowth, and Psyduck, with no secrets.
Last but certainly not least, a brand new promotion is coming out April 29th (Saturday), called Pokemon Pop! This promotion offers a variety of items featuring original comic-style illustrations of some popular Pokemon, including Mimikyu! The merchandise line-up includes a bunch of Pokemon Center staples (blind packaged charms, clearfiles, Pokemon Center cookies, and phone cases, among others) plus a couple unique items (drinking glasses instead of hot drink mugs!) We also have the ever popular 3 pairs of socks for 1,080 yen deal.
Of note are the three mascot plush that double as screen cleaners, but of which we do not have photos, because that would be silly. The three mascot plush will be of Pikachu, Gengar, and Mimikyu, so if you’re a Mimikyu fan, don’t overlook these.

I’m back with a new type of merchandise announcement post: Banpresto! In the past, I’ve quietly added these releases directly to the Monthly Overview posts, but I’m going to start creating posts like this once a month when Banpresto releases information for the next month’s prizes.
January promises us a bunch of really cute plush, including some adorable Rockruffs!
A new series, Pokemon Tea Party, will start in January with a big size Pikachu plush and three smaller plush all coming out January 17th (Tuesday).
If you love the Nebukuro Collection plush, and Eeveelutions, you have the January line-up to look forward to.
Big size plush of Vaporeon and Flareon sleeping bag Pikachus will come out January 11th (Wednesday).
Big size plush of Leafeon and Glaceon sleeping bag Pikachus will come out January 24th (Tuesday).
The three smaller plush (Sylveon, Umbreon, and Espeon sleeping bags) will come out January 11th (Wednesday).
The Kororin Friends series continues in January with an electric type theme!
The smaller size plush (Pikachu, Pichu, and Pachirisu) comes out January 19th (Thursday).
Large size Kororin Raichu plush comes out January 24th (Tuesday).
Rockruff (and Lycanroc) will be the first Alolan Banpresto prizes aside from the starter plush released in November and December!
The big size Rockruff plush and the smaller Rockruff and Lycanroc plush will all come out January 26th (Thursday).
Finally, we have a Namco game center exclusive: Magikarp! At a length of 15 cm, he’s not considered a big size plush, but if you’re a Magikarp collector, he’s pretty cute.
*All the plush mentioned in this post are prizes, meaning they can only be won from game centers and won’t be available for direct sale at Pokemon Centers.
They can also be bought second hand.

Along with the surprise mini-promotions (Trick Battle and Forest Playtime) previously mentioned, a bunch of cute plushies also came out June 18th!
First up, Pikachu explosion! Every summer, there is a series of Pikachu centered events with tons of costumed Pikachus and other related Pikachu goods. This year, the explosion leaked into a mini Pikachu promotion featuring a bunch of items with a Pikachu print.
Perhaps one of the coolest items (in my opinion) is this backpack. It’s a little pricey mainly because it’s double branding (Pokemon and Outdoor) but you’re guaranteed a sturdy bag that will probably last for a while, and even longer than a while if you’re not planning on going hiking with it through, for example, the Australian outback.
Most of the items in this promotion come in either yellow or black, and the backpacks are no exception. While the yellow Pikachus are cute, my preference is definitely in the black. Not only because it’s my favorite color, but I think the print looks cooler white on black. However, if you prefer to stand out in a crowd, the yellow patterned bag is probably more your style!
Another neat item from the Pikachu promotion is this shirt. First off, way longer than I was expecting, especially for a Japanese size shirt! For the record, yes, this shirt also has a black/white variation.
The July Monthly Pair Pikachu also came out on the 18th.
These two Pikachu are beating the heat with their cute swim wear and inner tube!
The best release of the 18th, however, is the 5th batch of the very popular Kuttari series.
This new set of plush included Lilligant
But best of all… CHILLARMY! For those who are new to the Miki(tzune), Chillarmy (Minccino) is my number one favorite Pokemon, and when I saw he was getting a Kuttari plush, I cried tears of joy and could not wait for this release. As with the previous Kuttari releases, all the Pokemon featured in this batch have both an awake and sleeping version, and the tag art differs slightly depending.
My personal Chillarms are on the way, but as soon as I get them, expect a slightly more in-depth review.
Until next time!
Along with July’s Monthly Pair Pikachu and the 5th batch of kuttari plush that came out today in Japan, the Pokemon Center surprised us with two mini stationary promotions: Mori Asobi (Forest Playtime) and Trick Battle.
These stationary mini promotions can sometimes be easy to miss, especially if they’re released without notice, but they’re great if you like Pokemon themed items (rulers, pencils, notebooks, clearfiles, etc) that you can easily use in your everyday life.
